The idea of putting up a private Health training institution at Akim Oda was conceived by Nana Diwohene Obeng Bediako 1, Afutuponghene of Mankessim Traditional Council area, also known in private life as Mr Kwaku Asamoah, the proprietor of the school.
The school is situated in Akim Oda, at former Rabson’s Hotel, Government Bungalow area. It has one 3storey and 2storey classroom blocks, a very big library with a sitting capacity for 250 students stocked with current books and access to E-Library and Journals. In addition, it has a well-equipped Simulation Laboratory for demonstration and re-demonstration to help students acquire the necessary skills before they go out for their practical attachments at the various hospitals and clinics.
The school has professional accreditation by the Nursing and Midwifery Council to run the REGISTERED GENERAL NURSING (DIPLOMA-RGN) COURSE.
It is affiliated to the University of Cape Coast.
It has also been accredited by the National Accreditation Board (NAB).
The entry requirements are the same as they are for all RGN (Diploma) course
Accommodation is not a problem in the school, since the hotel has been turned into a hostel and therefore the comfort of the student is assured. The school has more than enough water for students’ use. Electricity has also been catered for with six (6) generators to supplement the electricity supply from the national grid in case of any “dumsor”.
We have well trained teaching and non-teaching staff who are dedicated, courteous, respectful and prepared to go the extra mile for the progression of the school.
In lieu of the above, I write to everyone who is reading about the school on the website to visit the school to have the first hand information about the structures, meet the staff and be a witness to what
